The War and Treaty, who performed at the 2023 MOJA Arts Festival, have received two nominations for the 66th Annual Grammy Awards for Best New Artist and Best American Roots Song for “Blank Page”.
The War and Treaty, a husband and wife duo consisting of singer-songwriters Michael Trotter, Jr. and Tanya Trotter. The group played at this year’s MOJA Arts Festival on Friday, September 27th at the Charleston Music Farm and concertgoers are still buzzing about their amazing voices and their captivating performance.
Two-time GRAMMY Award Winner and MOJA Arts Festival Artistic Director Charlton Singleton said “Congratulations to the War and Treaty on their two Grammy nominations. MOJA Arts Festival community is still talking about and their incredible performance at this year’s festival. We will be rooting for the War and Treaty to win Best New Artist and Best American Roots Song.”
The 2024 GRAMMY’s will take place on Sunday, Feb. 4th in LA and will air live at 8:00pm EST on CBS.
The MOJA Arts Festival is a multi-disciplinary festival produced annually and directed by the City of Charleston Office of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the MOJA Planning Committee, an all-volunteer community arts and cultural group.
Additional assistance and guidance is provided by the less formal networks of the MOJA Advisory Board, a group of civic leaders who assist with fundraising and advocacy, and the Friends of MOJA patron circle, representing individual and corporate donors.
