To celebrate the announcement of the MOJA Arts Festival’s 40th Anniversary season, the City of Charleston’s Community Services Section is hosting a family-friendly block party on Wednesday, June 19th from 6:00-9:00 pm on King & Ann Streets Downtown.
Juneteenth on King will feature outdoor dining, live music, dancing, and artisan and crafts vendors. The festive celebration will have a music stage on Ann Street near the Visitor’s Center garage, hosting performers like The Legacy of Motown Band and Deninufay African Drum and Dance.
MOJA Arts Festival Artistic Director, Charlton Singleton, commented, “The MOJA Arts Festival team has been working around the clock to curate one of our most ambitious Festivals to date. We invite everyone to our Juneteenth on King Block Party on June 19th as we celebrate and announce some of our main events for this historic 40th Anniversary of the MOJA Arts Festival!”
This block party will kick off the 40th Anniversary season of the MOJA Arts Festival, a celebration of African American and Caribbean arts. More information on this year’s MOJA Arts Festival line-up will be announced on Tuesday, June 18.
The 2024 MOJA Arts Festival runs September 26 to October 6 in Charleston, SC.

Additional assistance and guidance is provided by the less formal networks of the MOJA Advisory Board, a group of civic leaders who assist with fundraising and advocacy, and the Friends of MOJA patron circle, representing individual and corporate donors.
