Making & Remembering: A Symposium

The Halsey Institute of Contemporary Art and the Avery Research Center for African American History and Culture present Making & Remembering: A Symposium, accompanying the exhibition Grounded in Grain, Washed in the Water. The symposium will feature artist talks from Derrick Beasley, Maya Freelon, and christa david, followed by a panel discussion with exhibition curator Lauren Jackson Harris. The afternoon will include a screening of High Water, directed by Tyquan Morton, a Q&A with Morton and Charleston Poet Laureate A$iahMae, and a panel discussion on collecting Black art moderated by Arun Drummond.
