An interactive event, intertwining live dialogue between a Gullah Linguistics Expert, Shakespearean Scholar and 2 performers, exploring the resonances between two distinct linguistic expressions.
Featuring:
- Scenes from Shakespearean plays, and Gullah poetry, Cultural Cadences offers a multifaceted look into the rich complexities of both Gullah and Shakespeares’ linguistic and rhythm cultures.
- Expert-led discussions will delve into the historical and cultural contexts that have shaped these languages: complex rhythm patterns, word order, sentence structure, and grammatical conventions, and more.
- Interactive activities include Q&A sessions with performers and scholars allowing audience members to deepen their appreciation for linguistic diversity and cultural richness.
