Black Frequencies: Poetry, Sound, & Vision

Charleston’s first and second Poet Laureates, Marcus Amaker and A$iah Mae Thomas, present an
immersive evening of poetry, original electronic music, live accompaniment and projected visual art.
Rooted in Black cultural traditions while embracing contemporary performance, the evening explores
memory, ancestry, joy, resistance and imagination. Books from local poets also will be available for
purchase in the Cannon Street Arts Gallery following the performance.
