This year, the Festival took place from September 25 - October 5, 2025.
In 2025, festival presenters included Johnny Osbourne, Step Afrika!, the Morehouse College Glee Club, Adam Hawley, Bernard “Pretty” Purdie, Tommy Brown Jr. with Black Noyze, the Live in the Flesh Band, Rochelle Whitney Green, Fouché Sheppard, Minerva King, Veronica Gaillard, Jackie Odom-Mickel, Greg Loney, Joey Morant, and the Palmetto Pulitzer Poets, with additional performances and events from the Gullah Collective, PURE Theatre, and countless community partners across Charleston.
The 2025 MOJA Arts Festival poster features the work of Christine D. Johnson. Her mixed-media collage “Life Witness – What is Your Story?” encourages us to reflect, connect, and share our own experiences. Words embedded in the piece — “open up” and “human” — remind us that storytelling is both personal and universal, a vital part of how we witness life together.
