2014

2014 Festival Poster

This year, the Festival took place from September 25 - October 5, 2014.

MOJA Arts Festival highlights included:

  • National recording artist, Regina Belle, performed in An Evening of Jazz Under the Stars at the Family Circle Stadium,
  • Pearl Cleage, bestselling playwright and poet, read excerpts from her collection of poetry for the Literary Corner,
  • Carlie Towne Productions presented Gullah/Geechee Conversation: Jes Wana Testify!” for the Theatre Series,
  • “Unsung Heroes: African-American Songs and Stories of the Civil War” was presented by The Citadel Choir,
  • Artists D’Jaris Whipper Lewis, Tiffany Rice, Anna Brock and Ellen Moryl performed a night of intimate songs for MOJA’s Classical Encounter – Poems of the Deep Song at Mt. Zion AME Church; and,
  • The 2014 featured MOJA Poster Artist was Alvin B. Glen with his work “Wali.”
