2012

This year, the Festival took place from September 27 - October 7, 2012.

MOJA Arts Festival highlights included:

• National recording artist, Will Downing, performed in An Evening of Jazz Under the Stars at the Family Circle Stadium,
• Young, emerging poet, Shannon Laribo read excerpts from her collection of poetry for the Literary Corner,
• Carlie Towne Productions presented Diary Frum De Neck Part 4 for the Theatre Series,
• The MOJA Gospel Concert:  “A Gospel Explosion” included various Male Choirs from Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist, Royal Missionary Baptist, Bethel AME and Greater Zion AME Churches,
• Violinist, Seth Gilliard, performed an evening of classical to contemporary music and opera at the City Gallery,
• Opera sensation, Denyce Graves performed a night of intimate songs for MOJA’s Classical Encounter at the Dock Street Theatre, and
• The 2012 featured MOJA Poster Artist was James Denmark with his work “Carolina Jam.”
