This year, the Festival took place from September 29 - October 9, 2011.
MOJA Arts Festival highlights included:
National recording artist, Najee, performed in An Evening of Jazz Under the Stars with Najee at Porter Gaud Stadium;
John Street Jazz presented Ann Caldwell in concert;
Renowned African writer, Jacqueline Maduneme read excerpts from her latest work Ada’s Daughter for the Literary Corner;
The Philadelphia Dance Company (PHILADANCO) performed in the Dance Gala at the Gaillard Municipal Auditorium;
Carlie Towne Productions presented Diary Frum De Neck Part 3 for the Theatre Series;
The MOJA Gospel Concert: “A Gospel Explosion” included Minister Mario Desaussure as well as The Voices of Deliverance;
Eleganza performed an evening of classical music and opera for MOJA’s Classical Encounter; and
The Visual Arts lineup for 2011 featured works by the MOJA Poster Artist, Jonathan Green, a Juried Art Exhibition, and the featured exhibit, “Lowcountry Reflections.”
